Michaels mentoring/ support of up and coming artists

I am wondering if anyone out there is aware of any mentoring or supporting of up-and-coming artists that Michael may have been doing in his later years?  if so I would love to hear in the hopes that I could support this particular type of artist in part as a remembrance of Michaels work in this way.
