Another song from the reel to reel tape with Amy and Paul.

This is the title written on the song list but I can't find it online. Michael sings just one verse and chorus. Anyone recognize this song? My fav off this tape.

This is the first upload from a reel-to-reel tape of MJ solos, one duet with Amy Johnson (Crow) and a couple solos by Crow with brother Paul. Around 1968. Michael says on the tape that it's written by Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers but it was actually written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil but was a hit for Medley in 1968. This is the only reason I'm guessing this recording was made that year. I've listened to clips of Medley and others who covered this song and it's very different than MJ's cover. He's got a great voice on this and it's one of my favorites on this tape.

This is a 1975 interview for Little Bit, a high-school magazine in Mpls-St.Paul. 

It includes the actual recorded interview between the authors and MJ! 

The article itself has his history, from childhood to living in Maine and being a waiter to studying guitar in Spain.

I wanted to post some thoughts I had this morning, about what Michael's music means to me.  Although I listen to many types of music, it is Michael Johnson's music that I feel a personal connection to.  His voice and style of singing is different; more relevant to me.  The lyrics of his songs seem to be about my life.  I've experienced the pain of several failed marriages and other relationships; including family problems.  Michael's music has helped me through all of that, and continue to.

When I met Michael at the Chattanooga River Fest in 1999, it was like meeting a old friend.  He made you feel at ease.  Completely sincere.  Michael was real.  

Not a week passes that I don't listen to his music, which call up memories (both good and bad).  

Thank you Cindy, for this forum.  It helps me put in words how much Michael's songs mean to me, and it is so nice to read that so many others feel the same.  Peter
