  Rough Day
Posted by: Tlstella1969 - 05-31-2024, 10:08 PM - Forum: Michael Discussion - Replies (1)

Today was a very stressful day for me. My job is time sensitive and financial related. Invoices to send out and reports to submit.
So, I turned to my MJ music. Headphones went on and the tunes played. Though I love all of MJ's music "Departure" always gets to me. Beautifully written as he sings you picture the scenes. "diamonds and rubies for cars" I love it. And the guitar is amazing, like a trance, right at ease, imagine sitting in a music theater watching his show. Sadly something I will never experience.
I just wanted to let you all know that his music and voice saved me again.
Love you all.

  Resting Place

Hello Cindy, I'm reading those articles. I'm enjoying reading about his life on the road and giving his advice.
What a career, he truly experienced it all.
As for a final resting place, were his ashes placed in a burial plot?
I'm going to read a few more and then listen to some MJ music or watch one of the concerts.
Good night Cindy and my fellow MJ fans, keeping his music and memory alive.
God Bless.

  Open for Dan Fogelberg
Posted by: colqull - 05-22-2024, 02:19 PM - Forum: Michael Discussion - Replies (1)

I was working at a ski resort in Colorado in 1985 and saw Dan Fogelberg in Aspen. It wasn’t part of a tour, but rather just a one-off show he performed. I remember Michael opened for him. I didn’t know much other than Bluer Than Blue (which I really liked!). I remember him being really good with the audience. I enjoyed his performance very much! I noticed that the Aspen show was not listed among the listing of his concerts. I’m 99.9% sure I didn’t dream that up. Any knowledge of that show or how it came to be that he opened for Fogelberg?

  Michael's Family

Cindy, do his boys ever visit this site? Or Sally?
I giggle every time I hear his stories of his boys in his concerts.
Did Michael ever think of a writing a book?
I can only imagine the stories he could share.
Don't mean to pry, but I often think of his family.

LOS ANGELES, April 25, 2024  – Odette Quesada, Filipino composer and songwriter, is known for her timeless hits that have become classics in the Philippine music scene. With a career spanning over four decades, her music continues to captivate audiences worldwide, transcending generations and leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

Quesada marks her 40th anniversary milestone with "Odette Quesada All Hits Concert Series"  on May 11 at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA, and on May 12 at the Fox Theatre in Redwood City, CA. Special guests joining her are Raymond LauchengcoFelson Palad, and Jaya.

In a recent media huddle to promote the back-to-back shows, ABS-CBN International Head of Events Business Development Kerwin Du emphasized that “TFC's goal in bringing events to our region is to really showcase world class Filipino talents on the world stage. We at TFC consider Miss Odette Quesada as a generational talent, having produced multiple hits since the 80s.”

AIP Entertainment Co-Founder Saripaz Villar agrees that with the overwhelming reaction and three sold-out shows in Manila last year, they are so excited to share this anniversary concert with Filipinos all over the world.

Quesada's enduring impact on the music industry and her ability to resonate with audiences across different eras is undeniable. Du adds that partnering with AIP and Crossover events  to bring Quesada’s 40thanniversary tour to the U.S. as part of TFC’s 30th anniversary lineup of offerings is a perfect fit.

The Creative Process
Quesada's creative process, as revealed in the conversation, is as diverse and spontaneous as her compositions themselves. “Sometimes, I am prompted by a phrase, a line, a word, or a feeling, or something I’m watching on TV, or somebody’s life,” Quesada reveals.

From drawing inspiration from real-life experiences to meeting deadlines with unwavering commitment, her approach to songwriting reflects a blend of passion, intuition, and dedication.

Reflecting on her fastest masterpiece, Quesada shared, "Of all the songs I've written, 'Don't Know What to Do,' which was originally 'Hopeless Romantic,' only took about 20 minutes to write." It was her 17thbirthday, and she was watching an interview with singer-songwriter Michael Johnson. When the interviewer asked Johnson how he would describe himself, he said, “I’m a hopeless romantic.” Quesada then turned off the TV, got her guitar, and wrote the huge hit originally performed by the late Ric Segreto.

On Being Called a Generational Talent
When asked about the significance of being a generational artist, Quesada admitted that she never imagined lasting this long. She expressed gratitude for the enduring love her music receives, saying, "I’m just very, very happy to be here and to have my songs played and performed the way they are, and that they continue to be part of people’s lives."

Crossover Events Head Rio Manotoc shared that personally, Quesada’s songs are “songs that we grew up with, fell in love with, cried with, graduated with.” Timeless songs indeed that have become companions to many during pivotal moments in their lives.  Manotoc looks forward to bringing the whole experience to the Filipinos in Los Angeles and San Francisco through the show.

Be there for the 40th anniversary tour presented by AIP Media Production Inc., TFC, and Crossover Events - "Odette Quesada All Hits Concert Series” on May 11, Saturday, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA, and on May 12, Sunday,  at the Fox Theatre in Redwood City, CA - for an unforgettable time, honoring the remarkable career of a true icon. It is also part of the many offerings of TFC’s 30th anniversary celebration.
