This week I found myself thinking of my friend Michael Johnson. He’s been gone a few years now, and I play his music often. We had some great times together. He was a total sweetheart, a talented musician, and a great person to be around. Wherever you are Michael, you and your music are still with us.

I first met Michael about twenty years ago. He called me out of the blue and said he wanted to meet me. I don't know how he got my number, but I invited him over, and we became instant friends.

As many of you know, Michael Johnson underwent unexpected quadruple bypass surgery last August. He's doing well, however it has been a long challenging recovery. Announcing a celebration benefit concert - "MICHAEL & FRIENDS" at The Fine Line Music Café in Minneapolis, MN April 27th. All proceeds from ticket sales to benefit the "Friends of Michael Johnson" fund.
Michael's many Minnesota friends are lining up to perform. Acts currently scheduled to appear include: Emcee: WCCO's Tim Russell, Peter Ostroushko, Peter Lang, Cookie Coleman with Dan Newton, Ann Reed, Pat Donohue, Jon Vezner, Patty Peterson, Billy McLaughlin, Prudence Johnson, Willie Murphy, Jeff Arundel, The Daisy Dillman Band, Pamela McNeill, Mary Jane Alm, Michael Monroe, Carl Franzen, Lonnie Knight with more listed closer to the date.
